Until recently, whenever I would open say a Word or Excel document, made some changes and then used SAVE AS, the Save As window would pop-up and it would default to saving this file to the same location where the original file was opened.

I'm not sure what's happened, but now the SAVE AS window is defaulting to the last directory used instead of where the file I'm editing is currently located. Any ideas/suggestions how I can get it to default to saving this new file to the same location as where the original file was?

I just tested in Word. I don't see the behavior you're seeing. I opened two files which were in two different directories and repeatedly tried Save As on each one. Each time I tried it opened the dialog to the directory of the file I was trying save.

I have version 16.69 of Word.

I also tested Excel version 16.69. I get the same behavior I saw in Word.
