Saving space on Time Capsule

I've got a TC, and have used just under 300GB of the 500GB capacity for Time Machine backups. I'd like to be able to keep the other 200GB for files, etc, and I was wondering if there's any way of preventing TM from taking up any more space apart from wiping and partitioning?
