Saving synced songs

I'm not exactly sure how to word what I need done.

The hard drive crashed on my iMac, and I had to have it replaced. Luckily, I had all my iTunes library saved on an external drive, so I didn't actually lose anything.

However, I had it set to where it would only sync the checked songs, and now that I've had to reload my iTunes library, it lost the checked songs. Is there a way I can somehow have my iPhone communicate to iTunes what songs should be synced?

Does that even make sense?

No! Why not just open iTunes and check the songs that you have on your phone?

I have 1862 songs on my phone.

I could do that, but I was hoping there would be an easier way.
