When I activate my new phone will I be able to save the texts that I have on my current phone?

Yes, just be sure to either back up your messages to iCloud or have a backup of your phone made on iTunes. You can then restore through either one, and your messages will reappear.

No way to do just text messages vie iCloud is there? Id like to get rid of some of the "other" that keeps getting restored from my old phone/phones. But I need/snt my old text messages.

I just used the tutorial here and it worked great, restored as new but I have all my old messages.
