I mainly use firefox for most web related things but I can't seem to be able to do this in IE or safari on the mac, When you right click and 'save as' on a website, rather than just creating a simple html link to that website because I like to store websites in a folder rather than as bookmarks, it downloads the whole page onto the computer instead of just linking to it. Is their anyway to just send a link to your desktop/harddrive like you can on windows?

In Firefox 2 at least, when you click on "Save Page As", there is an option on the next dialog box that gives an option called "web page, complete" I'm guessing you just don't have that selected.

Just drag and drop the URL from the FF addressbar into the folder and it will create a webloc.

Or just bookmark it. ;)
