Hey guys,

I happened upon a Sawtooth G4 tower the other day, and I was thinking about making it a media center. What do you all think the best way to hook it up to my tv would be? The box has VGA and DVI out, and my tv has S Video and Component in. I just bought this, will it do the trick, or is there a better way?

Thanks

That should work ok (most video cards Apple ships output well to "TV video", at least with the DVI-Video adapter Apple makes). Of course, if you've got an LCD TV, then either VGA direct to TV or a DVI-HDMI adapter would provide better video quality, but if you have an "old fashioned" TV, that should do it.

I'm planning on doing something very similar myself, as soon as I can get a cheap laptop with a broken screen or some other cheap but functional tower.

That cable didn't work, any other ideas? My last case scenario is to buy a new video card with s video out, but I really don't want to spend a lot of money.

What video cards could you recommend, keeping budget in mind?

I tried flashing a Geforce2 MX that came from an old HP, that didn't work.

Does anyone have any ideas for me at all? I crave S video
