So it is bugging the hell out of me and happens on both my iPad and iPhone 5. I like to use SBSettings to adjust my brightness but it isn't working properly. If I lower my screens brightness and my device auto-locks...when I slide to unlock the brightness is reverted to what it was before I adjusted it to in SBSettings? Basically the brightness isnt being saved, is there a fix coming?

It's kind of useless to have a brightness toggle if it isn't going to remain what you adjusted it to after the phone goes to sleep/wakes.

You might want to try brightness fix for ios6 in cydia (I think that's what it's called.)
