Hey people, just wanting to know if whether you use scaled or native retina resolution for your rMBPs. Also, does the scaled drain more battery life compared to Best for Display? :D

I am curious about this as well. When it came to last year's models, I do remember reading that under normal use the scaling would knock off up to 30 minutes of battery. Since the CPU has to do more work.

I think the best thing for us to do is run it at the Best for Retina setting and then scale up when you really need it.

I can confirm that scaled resolutions definitely affects CPU temps for flash videos. (keep in mind, flash & mac os do not play well together)

On BFR - my temps are ~65c.

On highest resolution setting - my temps reach ~94c for the same video.

Not sure how it affects battery life though.
