Is there any reliable software out there that will extract text from a page I have scanned into my Mac using a bog standard scanner?

Did the scanner software not have an OCR (optical character recognition) bit?

Acrobat Professional (not sure about lower versions) can OCR pdfs.

EDIT: Not sure how reliable either are. Not had to do it for a few years now...

Try PDFPen 4. It uses the OmniPage OCR engine & does very well. For only $50, it sure beats Acrobat!

I have the pdf file contains *.tif image files.. i couldnt manage to correct it with PDFOpen?
