Scanner Help (epson Perfection 3490)

Just downloaded the intel osx drivers and utility for my scanner (epson Perfection 3490 and the installer just bounces once then dies. PLEASE HELP. im running an iMcs 20" (intel) 2GB ram, OSX 10.4.7 (build 8J2135)

has anyone got this scanner, please help i gust want to use it with photoshop

I have the same scanner, which used to work fine with my old windows PC. Now that I've moved to a MacBook, I cant get the same scanner to work. Downloaded and installed Twain driver and epson scan utility. No joy. Can anyone help?
