Hi, I'm looking to scan all of our old family photos as a present for my mother's 60th birthday.
I've looked through various scanner reviews, and CNET doesn't seem to allow me to specify mac compatibility as a filtering criteria. I've also looked at mac- specific review sites and most of them seem to be quite old reviews such that the products aren't available new anymore. Apple's online store only offers three, and I can't believe that's all Mac users get to choose from.
Could people recommend a good scanner that will enable me to get through a good chunk of our family photos. (I recognise that there is a time/ quality trade off - and I'm going to err on the quality side, but I want to finish before it's my 60th.)
The photos we have are mostly standard 6x4 prints and standard 35mm negatives. Also - some of the machines seem to come with image editing software as standard. If there's any that are simple to use (at present, i'm just using iPhoto) and mac & pc conpatible - that would be great, as I'm hoping to hand the project over to my (even less tech literate than me) brothers.
Thanks in advance!
