Scanning using Epson XP-700

I have been using Epson Scan with my MacBook Pro under Mountain Lion.
Since I moved to Mavericks Epson Scan no longer works - I receive the message "You can't use this version of the Application "EPSON Scan" with this version of OS X. You have "EPSON Scan " 3.7.9f0"
Any one got any ideas??

same with my V600 - Epson Scan no longer works under Mavericks. and there's no software update or any useful info on Epson's website.

there's a few threads over in Apple's discussion forums - basically it sounds like every Epson scanner customer using Mavericks is SOL until Epson gets around to updating the driver and scanner app - no clear timeframe when that will be, although I saw one poster who said he was told "several months"

perhaps the more voices that complain, the sooner Epson will wake up

UPDATE:

I just checked Epson website again, and now there's an updated Scanner Driver and Epson Scanning Utility, v3.9.2.1, posted 10/28 for my V600.
it wasn't there when I checked yesterday, so I must have just missed it. Downloaded it and installed - so now everything is working again.


I recommend you check their site to see if an update is available, and if not, submit a problem report as suggested in the above article

I found that the UK Epson site has an updated version of their Epson Scan software, version 5.1.0f0, available for downloading. It's dated 29 October 2013, and should be compatible with Mavericks. I have NOT tested it out yet (World Series final game had higher priority), but it installed fine in my rMPB with Mavs. YMMV. File is here.

Known mavericks issue with some printers-scanners i have also the same issue with my canon pixma.

Epson scanners will work in Mavericks' Image Capture. There aren't as many editing options in Image Capture as offered by Epson Scan though.
