I have a Scansnap SV600, a book scanner that includes software to digitally flatten the curve of an open book. While processing a book, I noticed that the process seemed faster when the monitor was set to 2560x1440 (low resolution) instead of the normal retina.

The SV600 is kind of obscure, and may well have been superceded by more advanced overhead scanners, but perhaps this observation can speed up the tedium.
