I use Carbon Copy Cloner on both my Macs and have it set up to do a clone backup every day in the middle of the night. On my desktop, this isn't an issue because it never sleeps. On my MBP, though, I've run into a problem. I'd like to have the task run at 3 AM or so, while I'm sleeping. The problem is that even if I set a scheduled wake up in System Preferences, with the lid closed on my MBP, it will only wake up for like 10 seconds before going back to sleep, not giving CCC enough time to run. My question - is there any way to keep the MBP awake WITH the lid closed long enough to have the backup run, and then have it go back to sleep?

Some conditions -
1. I don't want to keep the lid open all night. My room is very dusty by nature and I don't want dust piling up and falling inside the computer every single night.
2. I don't want to use an app like Caffeine to keep it awake because a) I'll forget to set it before going to sleep, and b) I want my MBP to sleep like normal and keep the battery in good health.

The only solution I can personally think of is creating a script or something to activate caffeine 5 minutes before the CCC task is scheduled to run, and have it turn off after it's finished.

If there's no way to accomplish this, I'll have to just let the backups run during the day. But I'm hoping someone has been in a similar situation and figured out a method. Thanks in advance!
