In the screenshot below is my problem.

I have my computer scheduled to shutdown at that time everyday. And for about six months now, it has.

But a couple of days ago, it just stopped working. I thought maybe I had left something open and that app or whatever was preventing the computer from shutting down... I'm asleep when it shutdowns. iTunes plays my going to sleep music... ;)

Any ideas on what to do?

I really hate to do anything really drastic.

Well, did you thoroughly check to see if there's an app keeping it up? Also, is your clock showing the right time (are you in the right time zone)? :)

An app keeping up has happened quite a few times, and the first time it happened, that's what I assumed it was. I couldn't check because my brother shutdown the computer before I could see.

But last night the only app that was open was iTunes.
I checked for messages, but I got none.

Is it still falling asleep normally?

Also, just as a side note, is there any reason you don't just let it fall asleep when it's done? Macs don't generally need to be shut down. :)

No messages saying shutdown was cancelled because...

Check the Console for what it does at the time of when it's shutting down; what does it say there?

I think I found a solution:

I Had iTunes do the Visualizer only on the biggest size, but not Full Screen mode.

And it shutdown. I saw it happen.

iTunes had been messing up my desktop when coming back from Full Screen mode. My desktop folders and documents were all messsed up, often all stacked on one spot.
