I have an old eMac that I set up as a folding machine. It's running Panther (10.3.9) and I've set it to go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. I've also set it to turn off the screen after 5 minutes.

After a scheduled wake-up, the screen will not turn off unless I move the mouse after it's awake (then wait 5min). I tried turning on the screensaver and the screensaver will run, but the monitor will still not turn off.

Is there any way (like with applescript or something) to either simulate a mouse movement or force the screen to turn off after a few minutes?
