I feel like I have emerged from a nuclear fallout shelter to discover that the world has written off the 2016 MBPs as faulty, mainly due to the keyboards. I can sincerely tell you that I have had zero issues with my MBP since day one, bar some minor software glitches regarding the TB and some clumsy handling of it which has resulted in a minor dint to the TB (I whacked the TB with the charging cable Indiana Jones style). Other than this, the 2016 MBP is the greatest laptop I have ever owned and I use it as my workhorse around the world for business and pleasure accordingly.

Anyone else out there with positive 2016 model experiences?

I guess as they were the worst affected by the keyboard affliction, though as Apple now replaces them for up to 4 years and with a 2017 keyboard, they are realistically no worse off than the 2017 models.

But you have to realize the impression one gets from these forums does not necessarily reflect the real world. It turns out even with the above average keyboard failures, the overall reliability of the 2016 appears to be higher than the previous generation:

Completely agree. I feel it's worth sharing positive experiences here to balance the overwhelming nay-sayers here. I know that when making a purchase, I'd certainly appreciate a more rounded discussion...

Mine went an entire year before the keyboard needed replacement. Other than that the computer has been fine.

I think most people have had zero problems with the 2016. But plenty of people have had keyboard issues which you read about here, most people don't post when there aren't any issues, nice to see a positive post.

No problems whatsoever with the one I had and sold last week.
