Michael Schumacher wins the Italian GP. Just two points between him and Alonso now. I really wish he wins the championship and then retires gracefully. Not like Agassi who left professional tennis with a defeat from an unknown Becker. What could be a better time to retire when you are at the top of your game.

UPDATE: Announces retirement. Wont take part in F1 2007.
BTW Ferrari now leads the constructors championship by 3 points.

Alonso had absolutely no luck today...he looked more like Kimi than Fernando, with his car blowing up around him near the end of the race.

I'm not surprised Schu will retire now, Ferrari doesn't seem to want his services anymore; that must be a little disillusioning and for someone contemplating retirement a "nudge" in that direction.

Of course, now the stage is set for some really exciting action with the championship battle coming down to the wire - and it seems Schumi is in control and set to collect his last WDC.

Three races to go.

I hope the Championship is decided by one driver beating another on the track, and NOT by a race steward penalizing a driver, or an engine failure or some such. Fingers crossed.

I still think Alonso has what it takes to win, but when Schumi and Ferrari are on form...

Next year will be very interesting though - Without Michael around I expect to see drivers like Button, Barichello and Massa on the podium more often next to Kimi and Alonso (well, maybe Alonso, unless he inherits Kimi's horrible luck).
