I have a MacBook Pro Retina 15" that occasionally makes a noise from inside the computer. It's a hissing/whining noise that sounds alienesque. In the attached recording the hissing starts at 0:18.

that sounds like static coming from the speakers, does it go away if you turn them down? The onboard sound card could be bad, or you may have a short in the input (while the newer mbp's don't have inputs they still exist on the board, something might be touching the contact point).
 
It only happens occasionally, but no when I turn it down it doesn't change. When I open different applications and what not it changes.
