iPod scratch on screen of 5th gen ipod - fixable?

I've got a scratch on the top left part of the screen of my 5G ipod.
It's pretty deep. Can this be fixed? Can the front cover be repaced? Is the LCD screen sitting behind it or is that the LCD screen?

Please help!
