Bought my computer a week or so after the new rMBPs came in late last year. It has been flawless, but I now notice a bright corner on the screen that seems to have appeared as of yesterday. Nothing happened to it and it is well protected. Bought less than a year ago, of course.

Any thoughts?

This is normal. A lot of screens have uneven brightness. Also there are screens that have a yellow hugh on one side and a pink hugh on another. So it might be yellow on one edge and pink on the other. Or dark in one corner and bright in the other.

Having an even screen is rare.

EDIT: Please post a picture. I see you mention it is "unusually" bright so I would like to see. Maybe Apple would change it out.

Has anyone who recently purchased a Haswell complained of yellow screens? I'd like to know whether this issue has been resolved.

Is it a bright "spot" ? If so, then certainly not normal. I had this on my Air and had the screen replaced under AppleCare. It was a bright mark about 1cm in diameter in the bottom right corner.
