Screen brightness is lower on 8.3

I've only just notice this today but it seems the brightness is lower when the slider is set to the middle on 8.3 on my iPhone 6 than it was on 8.2, I've now had to put the slider to nearly 3/4 way to get the same brightness back anybody else have this problem or is it Apple way to increase battery life by adjusting the brightness settings.

I haven't seen this, make sure "Zoom" is disabled, you could have the "Low Light" filter enabled with zoom.
