Im on my 2nd phase of converting the family video's.

I need to screen capture the title screen that comes up when a Sony DVD opens via the OSX DVD Player.

The Sony mini DVD's seem to have one big video file separated into separate clips by chapters. I just have to make a clip of the 1st screen so I can label the files.

OSX won't let you capture the DVD screen, and grabbing screen shot would be easier than writing them all out.

Is there any way to grab a clip of that main dvd menu screen that shows all the clips?

You cant do a CMD/Shift/4 to get it into screen capture mode and drag the select tool across what you want to capture? I don't think I found anywhere that doesn't work. You get a jpeg image on your desktop.

VLC worked!

Thank You, never thought of using VLC to play a DVD.

The program seems to do everything :)
