Can anyone recommend me a good (doesn't have to be free) app to 'film' my screen so to speak.

Running Tiger.

MacOS has an included app called "Grab" for capturing windows, full screens, or an area you designate to capture.

/Applications/Utilities/Grab

Simple screenshots, use Shift + Cmd + 4 for capturing using crosshairs, add a space to that mix and you get capture "segments" like entire windows, the dock, menu bar, etc.

For a professional screen recording app, ScreenFlow, since you want mentioned film, which is a screen cast. iShowU is also another cheaper alternative, but I use both.
