iPad mini Screen click noise

When I press on the ipad mini screen I can hear a click noise coming from the sound on off button. It doesn't matter where I press on the screen, it causes a noise in that area. If I press the screen and hold the mute button then it doesn't click. Is the screen flexing and catching the button???

Sounds like a short or issue within the device. Take it to your nearest Apple store and have them swap it out for you.

Back it up first.

Might not be that exactly, but whatever it is it doesn't sound normal! I'd get it checked out for sure.
