When i first tried it, it seemed better. Fingerprints don't stick well and are easier to remove.

After using it for 4 hours though, this is what happens. The grease sticks differently to the surface. While its not so easy to get it to stick, as soon as its on its harder to wipe of. The 2G has a glass that actually feels like a glass, its colder too. The 3GS seems more plastic like (only relatively).

The grease defintely becomes more hazy on the 3GS screen, when looking at it from an angle, rendering it harder to read and especially under direct illumination (like sunshine).

Hopefully it's just easier to wipe off -- on the 3G, several wipes on my t shirt just moves the grease around. Hoping the 3GS is different.

I've never seen either of my 2g or 3g screen that bad. It looks like you spread crisco on those phones  I'd have to agree with the above poster, wash your hands once in a while wow.

Where do you think all the grease on your hands and face go?

I understood it just cleans off easier.

holy crap dude you have some greasy A S S hands ..what the hell did you do eat a mcdonalds cheeseburger and go play with you iphone..Wash them

i love the new screen it is very nice and keeps of fingerprints very well

I'm having no problems like that with my screen.. I actually like the new screen.. It feels alot better to me also... I think Ima end up getting a screen protector anyways so

Good god man, that is hardly a typical amount of "grease".

Looks like you smeared a piece of buttered toast on top of it.

lmao,

its just so extreme because of the angle and the lighting... I tried to present it. Besides, I washed my hands before I took it out of the box, haven't even eaten since then.... rotfl

It's called a screen protector. I've had the same anti-glare screen protector on since I bought my 3G last July and I never had fingerprint problems.

Be smart about it, kid.

LOL..i literally laughed out loud just now in my office

hehe... I still am laughing ^^

Guys, if you take your screen and when there is fingerprints on it, wipe accross, apply a bit of pressure... you'll get the same result!! Either that or your skin has died along time ago!

You're a good sport for taking the comments with good spirits. I'll add mine: While I was looking at your pics all I could think about were gloves made from bacon. :p

tested something else...

Now, I think the coating just changes the grease-layer thickness, makes it thinner. In that case if you look at it from an angle, it becomes more dull. If you look at it from a steep angle though, less light is scattered by the grease because it is flatter yet doesn't form so many surfaces that could reflect the light your way...

So, for the proper angle, it might be better!

Seems Better

Initial impressions....

Put my 3G and 3GS side by side. Touched and swiped both with same fingers.

Overall 3GS seems to resist prints better and cleans off pretty easy.

Still early. Have to see how it works outside and in different lighting conditions.
