iPod touch Screen Dim Option??? Shuffle???

Is there a way to set the screen on my Touch to dim after a few seconds? I don't want the screen to sleep and lock (that's too much of a pain when I'm in the car), but having it on all the time is eating up my battery?

Also, can I set it to shuffle songs in a play list? Not select the Shuffle option at the beginning of the list, but if I want to start at a specific song and want it to shuffle from there.

No, you have to do that manually.

Select a song from your playlist, when it starts playing tap on the album cover once (in portrait view) to bring up the controls, tap the shuffle icon on the right.
