Screen doesn't work

I got a spill damage macbook from a friend. It was a 2.0 core duo. I replaced the logic board with an 2.0 core 2 duo, replace the battery connector, magsafe connector, heatsink and fan. I took the hard drive to a local computer store and they tested the hard drive and said it was recognizable. I just got all the parts today and assembled it. When I turn it on the fan spins, the hard drive spools, battery is charging, but the screen does nothing, There is no sound. Where should I go from here? I am going to try and find someone with a mini dvi connector to try and get a visual from there but any ideas would be great.

Did you try booting with an external monitor attached?

No, Im working on find a mini connector. I will update after I try that.

Can you firewire the computer?

I have no idea what has happened there
