I have an issue on my screen, can anyone please help me ID it?
Its basicly that "X" on the screen. It is most noticeable on black backgrounds, but also on various others.

thanks in advance

am i blind, or is that a horrible picture? I can't make it out.

Please get on topic people, I am only looking to find out what this problem is called so I can get it fixed.

I didn't really come here because I needed your comments on my picture-taking-skills.

When did you start noticing the problem? Is it intermittent?

I noticed it yesterday when I started this topic.
It is still there, and I have tried everythig - I don't think I can do anything about it, so I am going to call apple on monday, but I need to know what to say to them.

Just saying there is an area of the screen where the backlight doesn't look normal, is not enough. I fear they will want to take it in for repairs, but I need it to be fixed quickly (AKA replaced) - I have exams wed- to friday!
I have already had one macbook pro replaced because of dead pixel issues, and it was not a nice experience (due to UPS and TNT shipping), but it is still better than sending the pc into them and have them keep it for eterneties.

EDIT: There are no apple stores in my country, so do you know if I can take it into a reseller store, and have them look at it, even though I bought it on Apple's online store?

That is definitely strange.... I would say your best bet it too take it in to your local reseller and see what they can do. It's seems like a problem with the screen itself. It doesn't seem too bad so if you're scared that they might send it away for repairs, why not hold off in bringing it in until after finals?

Talked with apple, and got the computer in for rep.
I hope it will be fixed soon :)
