Hi Guys, my old man's iMac 21" from mid last years screen has failed, apparently Apple refuse to work on it so whatever, he just wants the data off it. What's the most simple method I could use?
Is there a way to force a second screen to become the primary without blindly looking for system prefs on the other end?

(BTW I have not actually gone and seen the issue yet and will try the basics)

Connect it to a second monitor?

As I said;

Devie, I answered this recently in another thread here. You could also access the drive using target disk mode.

From the thread CMD + F1 key. For those too lazy to look.
