Screen flickering on 2013 11" MBA

So after having an external monitor connected to my MBA, I've noticed that the MBA screen flickers after I take the connector out. Why is it doing this? Is it my eyes? Is it different between the refresh rate of the monitor and the MBA screen?

I will send it to an Apple store for checkup. I have a 2013 11" MBA which has no such problem.

As of writing, the flickering has now stopped, after being used with an external monitor this morning but after being unplugged from it for over 5 hours.

Does a reboot stop the flickering?

The first time I noticed this I rebooted the laptop immediately. It didn't solve the problem however. This time round I have put the machine to sleep multiple times since this morning and it never makes a difference.

Hardware issue then for sure....

Just shut down and restarted the laptop, the grey background on the login screen was flickering still.

It's under warranty so I can get it checked but it's just strange given that the effect goes away after a while ...

There's definitely something wrong with it. Take it in, they'll probably end up replacing it because it sounds like a logic board problem.

Having just been on chat with Applecare and going through the suggested checks, I was recommended to take it into an Apple store. The checks included SMC reset, PRAM reset, disk scan and checking for flickering in recovery mode. I also reinstalled the OS.
