Hey all,

This has been bugging me for about 6 months now, and I've only just gotten around to posting it.

In the Energy Saver preferences, my June 2009 MBP is set to automatically reduce the brightness (dim) of the display before turning the monitor off.

Now, sometimes this works fine. Other times, the display flickers very quickly (about 1/8 of a second) and then returns to full brightness as if I interacted with the computer in some way.

Does this happen to anyone else? Any known fix? I presume it's a software bug. SMC reset did nothing.

By the way, I'm using the integrated graphics. I don't know if it has anything to do with the GPU or not, but I think not. I don't use the dedicated card regularly so I'm unaware if it happens on that as well.

Thanks
