Screen flickers Macbook pro 2018 + Minidi hub dongle + external Dell

Hi, I have a Minidi hub dongle (dock?) that includes HDMI, hooked into my new macbook pro 2018 and my Dell 4k monitor. Every few minutes the screen jumps/flickers, and I never saw this happen with the dock and my 2018 macbook air. Any ideas, suggestions? I am running it 4k, 3840 x 2160.

I have only just picked up my MacBook Pro Vega, had this issue from day 1 so I swapped it over.
The new model has the exact same issue.

I’m no expert but if the monitor is connected to the HDMI it is spec’d for 30Hz at that high resolution and expected not to run as smooth as 60Hz. Does it jump/flicker at lower resolutions? The USB-C/TB3 port at the end should run it without issues but if you already have the monitor connected there, then it’s an issue.
