The screen flicks every 20 seconds or so for a second or less on Macbook Air M1.The screen moves to the left and shows what appears to be a blank email but it happens so fast I can't try to click on it. This happens on any app that I am using (Word, Chrome email etc). If all programs are closed and I am at the desktop it flickers but more like a brief flash with no email window. Any thoughts is this a hardware or software (Big Sur) issue

  • So I think I found out something about the problem. First, after restarting the flicker went away. But before that at one point a window popped up and indicated that it couldn't connect to the Yahoo mail server. The flicker showed a blank email ever so briefly but we couldn't see what email server it was referring to. Anyway, I was able to close that window restart the M1 and now all is good.

  • What was odd was that we had not logged on to yahoo mail up to that point.

So if someone calls in with a flicker that shows a window pushing out that window you're working on ever so briefly with a blank email it seems to have something to do with the OS communicating with the email server unsuccessfully
