Is this normal? It never does it after it initially does it.

System details
-Apple TV 4K (1st Gen)
-Hooked to LG C1 TV
-Sonos 5.1 (Via eArc)
-Dolby Vision and all other options are enabled

let me know if this is normal or if more details are needed?

Thanks

mine does the same, (second gen aTV 4k on a CX). It is almost like the Apple TV is changing input after turning on, even though the TV automatically does that.

I have a PS5 an if I turn that on sometimes the aTV "steals" input/focus.

Interesting, ok wasn't sure if there was a setting that would fix this that i maybe have wrong.

yeah it is annoying because the audio takes a few seconds to come back so you lose what is being said if something was playing

I think you are referring to the audio dropout issue with some of the more recent LG OLEDs. This issue is a different one altogether.
I am pretty sure the issue the OP is talking about is an LG one. Something to do with how LG is processing the CEC commands for turning on. Sadly if you are using eARC it appears you cannot turn CEC off. So the TV turns on to the aTV for input, then switches to the aTV input even though it doesn't need to.

I had this same problem with my LG OLED and resolved the problem by switching from the 2nd generation 4k (A2169) to a first generation 4K (A1842). No idea why that worked. Initially I had no issues with the 2nd generation but after a year or so the black pause started. Hope this helps.

yeah, maybe its not set up the same? I am on a first gen 4K and its doing it.

This is most likely the result of HDCP 2.2 encryption handshaking on the HDMI. It can also be caused by which settings you have for "Match Content", "Match Dynamic Range" or "Match Frame Rate".

Do you have your ATV 4K set to never sleep? It's always on right?

It's pretty definitely not anything to do with HDCP. It seems much more likely that the initial start up is in the wrong colour space due to some EDID error, and then the set performs an HDMI resync to fix that each time.
