Hi, I made an earlier thread about some videos causing my MacBook Pro's screen to go black. (https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=12614653#post12614653)
The answer I got was to use VLC instead of Quicktime which seemed to resolve most of my problems. However, today when I tried to play the audio file at the bottom of this site: http://startalkradio.net/2011/05/22/the-political-science-of-the-daily-show, it does the same thing as before. The screen goes black and the audio freezes.
(In addition, I noticed that on a webpage for my homework which had some Quicktime visual/audio things on it, it tends to crash as well. This also happened on another website with audio files, although I'm not sure if it was Quicktime or osmething else.)
I was wondering if this is still related to a Quicktime codec problem or if this means it is something else. Also, is there a way to resolve this issue permanently? I'm getting really tired of clicking on a website, only to have my MBP freeze and the screen go black.
