Screen goes blank when connected to an external screen

My macbook has a problem. When I connect a displayport to hdmi connector and use a second monitor that is a computer monitor with a hdmi to dvi port connector I can use it for a while but probably every hour, or randomly, the screen goes gray and i cannot use my macbook pro which is about 3 weeks old.

I took it to apple and they said nothing was wrong with it so I reinstalled OS X and reset the PRAM and I am still having this problem.
