Hello,

This is a very silly question, but I just forgot the name of that application that allows you to capture an image of the screen. I have used it in the past but but right now I need it and I can't find it.
I've got a powerbook g4
thank you!

Shift, apple key the the number 3 key. All at the same time

You don't need a program. Just hid Cmd+Shift+3 to save an image of your entire screen to the Desktop.

Advanced modes:

If you want to grab just a portion of your screen, hit Cmd+Shift+4, then click and drag to select the area you want. A picture of that area will be saved on the Desktop.

If you want to grab a specific window, hit Cmd+Shift+4, then press Tab, and move the camera cursor over the window you want. Click and a picture of that area will be saved on the Desktop.

Add Control to any of these keyboard shortcuts to copy the picture directly to the clipboard instead of saving it as a PNG on the Desktop.

EDIT: Now now, Reflow, it's the Command key. The Apple logo isn't even on it on the new keyboards. ;)

In applications>utilities there is an app called Grab - that is want you want.

Edit : you just beat me to it Silver-Fox

Oh yes it was Grab. Thanks!
and thanks to Killmoms for such a detailed answer, very helpful.
