Screen Issue Mid-2012 MacBook Pro

I all,

I started having an issue with my screen. It seems to happen when I scroll and when there is video or gifs on the screen.

I've added a video so you can see exactly what the issue is coz it's hard to explain.

I'm also noticing it happen as I type.

Am I witnessing the beginning of the end for my laptop? I was hoping to get another year out of it anyway.

Looks like it could potentially be the GPU. Is yours the one with dedicated graphics?

Agreed that it looks like a video card issue of some kind. Other than that, can't offer more unfortunately.

Yeah it's the dedicated graphics card.

Eh, so what do I do now?

I would try to open it up and reconnect/reseat the display cable.

I'm not eligible for that repair program, unfortunately. It does sound like that issue though.

I'd have to bring it to CompuB or one of the other mac stores to do that.

On the plus side, turning it off and on again seems to have helped for the moment. Of course I'll be keeping an eye on it.
