Screen issue or not 15'' macbook pro

Hello,
Just trying to figure out if this is a issue with my macbook pro. When the screen is dark/black when movies are playing ect.. I noticed light on both sides of my screen. Not sure if this is normal but it bothers me a great deal. I have a 15' early 2008 macbook pro with applecare. Picture is side ways sorry

That's just the backlighting. Mine does the same thing, and unfortunately, they probably won't get much better than that unless Apple starts using more expensive, and probably thicker displays.
