Screen issue or Software Bug

Basically every reboot, at the OS X 10.9 login screen i get a distorted screen for several seconds, after about 5 seconds it stops and does not occur again when using the OS.

It is a repeatable bug as it will occur after every reboot. Anyone else experience this?

This is a 2012 rMBP 16GB Ram i7 2.7GHz.

Never dropped, no liquid was ever near it.

Since i posted i have reset the SMC and erased and re-installed 10.9.2, i was able to re-produce the issue.

Looks like this will be a call to Apple

seems like an issue with the graphics card. Does this occur every time?

If I was a betting man, I'd say hardware issue
