Hello,

I have a 13" aluminum macbook, before they renamed it to macbook pro. A while ago, a bar with negative-ish colors appeared on the screen, I have never dropped it or anything like that. I had been quite busy so I didn't look into fixing it right away. I have ways to get around it and if you press the back of the screen, the bar flickers and you can eventually get rid of it temporarily.

Some time after that, a second bar showed up right next to it, it was not as bad as the first one as this one was more transparent, but tonight it changed. (I've attached a picture)

I suppose someone with hardware knowledge would have a better way of explaining this, I can imagine what the problem is but as someone who doesn't really know squat about computer hardware I wont elaborate.

Anyways, a while back I took it to a local apple store (Monterrey, Mexico) They told me they would have to replace the entire screen which would cost about 700 dollars. Needless to say, the warranty expired long before this happened.

Does anyone know what the problem is and if it can be fixed without having to replace the whole thing? Any info will be appreciated.

Thank you!
