Had my 3TB HD crash and did the repair myself. Surprisingly not that bad cutting the tape and opening it up. Watched enough video's for gotcha's and have a replacement tape kit ready to go. BUT, system is restored and working perfectly except for 2 big bars on the screen. One is right center about an 1.5" wide with left of that 2 1/16 or 1/32 bars. Second major bar is about 2"inches wide and about 1.5" off the right side. Tried reseating cables a couple times. Any opinions out there on if I have a bad Video card, bad cable, or I really did "break" the LCD display?

Bars appear to be dead lines not video black imposed. I have a second monitor off the lighting port and it is working fine.

You narrowed it to either the display or the cable. My guess would be the cable or its connection. Start with the cheaper of the options.
