Being a proud owner of a new 2011 iMac, I'm concerned about the screen issues. I have read the debates of shutting down vs sleeping for Macs. I know the manual suggests using sleep unless gone for more than a few days. I understand it's harder on the HD to shut down every night, but it got me thinking about the screen issues; smudging, yellowing, etc.
It seems the heat factor causes (most) of the problems, the way the 2011 and before are designed. Being that (most) Mac users use the sleep function, I wonder if there's a correlation between that and some of the screen issues?
So far I have been shutting it down at the end of each night but letting it sleep throughout the day.
