Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

When my iphone is on sleep mode it the screen just lights up randomly.

There are no messages or emails being received.

Any ideas why this would happen?

Cheers

The same thing happens to me now and again. Just displays the unlock screen then goes back to sleep. There was a thread a bit ago on this and a few people had noticed this happening.

Don't think it is anything to worry about. But I have not come across any reason as to why the iPhone does this.

Don't worry and maybe we will see a fix in an update in the future if it is software related.

Wirelessly posted (Apple Communication Device: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A102 Safari/419.3)

I think this happens when your signal goes in and out of service. This happens to mine when I am driving and pass through a dead spot.

that's basically impossible where I live.. so it can't be the signal

Same problem. Original silver backed phone.
Restored phone.
Tried shutting it off & it just turns back on by itself.

Lights up almost every minute for about 5 seconds.

Would love to know what this is about. Started doing it a few days ago.

I'll post what I posted on the Apple forums:

Can you all post what software you have installed, and what device you have?

I've seen this happen with 2G the most.

I attribute the wonky screen brightness to a bug in 3.0. Like that, when I have it connected to my computer and listen to music the screen turns on with every song change (unless I lock the screen)

In both cases I'm hoping to see this resolved through a software fix.
