So if I fail to press the screen lock button with enough force then it will not turn off the screen. Is this within normal manufacturing variation or an aberration? It's not a huge deal right now, but my iPhone 4 screen lock button completely failed about 20 months into my contract so I'm a bit concerned that this button too may fail.

Does everyone/anyone have a button that is not very sensitive? I don't want to go to the apple store to request a new one if I'm within the range of acceptable, so I just wanted to throw this question out ton the forum. Thanks!

How much force are you using? More then when you originally purchased it?

I had the same problem with my 4 (stopped working completely), had to get the device replaced for $249. It sucks.
