At first glance, I noticed that my wife's 8 plus is a bit brighter and a bit bluish in tone. Both have auto brightness off, true tone off, and max brightness.

Is this the norm? Don't get me wrong, I like the tone on the 8 plus better. Upon testing a 4k video side by side, X wins by a little margin. In term of blacks, no contest here.

Now are they supposed to come calibrated like this from the factory?
[doublepost=1510534990][/doublepost]So ok I did this: Turned on, and off auto brightness on both phones. Toggled the brightness on both from min to max. Then, looked at the yahoo homepage, iPhone X is a bit brighter now.

yes the X should be brighter i already saw a lot of comparison in youtube and they measure it and hands down the X is brighter and better in sunlight

Huh?
No. Compared to an
8 plus, the X will be less bright and likely appear more “warm”.

With auto-brightness on for both devices, 8 plus is brighter even with brightness level both at max.

When auto was turned off with both max brightness, the x was a bit brighter.

Can someone with both phones mentioned above confirm this? Indoor test only..

Compared my X to both a 6S Plus and an 8 Plus. The X blows them out of the water on every single level. Auto Brightness is supposed to be off though.

yes because the X uses oled and its vurnerable of screen burning thats why they actually tried to hide the of/on toggle of autobrightness now.X will be brighter even when the auto brightness is enable in direct sunlight or outdoors

Thanks for confirming that auto brightness needs to be off in order to make it brighter.

My X seems a lot less bright then my 7 Plus, were do I turn off Auto Brightness I only see the toggle to make it brighter or not no auto setting?

Settings>General>Accessibility>Display Accommodations>Auto-Brightness

Real handy. LOL Almost like Apple doesn't want you to turn it off.

Yep despite it being brighter with the auto feature on, I'm leaving it off to make the display last longer and less chances of burn-in.
