I'm at a loss. Both the macbook and tv are on the same network and I can ping the tv properly.

-Allow handoff between Mac and iCloud devices is off

-Allow Airplay for (Anyone on the same network) is on

-Require password is off

My andriod phone is able to screen mirror just fine. I've power cycled both the laptop and tv a couple of times. The tv doesn't show its name under screen mirroring, however, it does show under bluetooth devices and I can connect via bluetooth properly from the laptop. What else could I be missing or misconfiguring? Thanks in advance.

So.... what's happening exactly, when you try?

Does the TV support AirPlay?

Do other devices (e.g. iPhone) work?

Update to 26.2 probably isn't necessary for this issue, but it's a good idea in general to stay up to date.

Hello.

When I try, nothing shows under the screen mirroring list. The only item there is Display Settings. As mentioned in my post, my android phone screen mirroring works fine. The tv is a brand new LG C5 and, the Airplay option is on.

Android isn't using AirPlay, of course.

Sounds like AirPlay isn't responding. Try testing with ANY other Apple device (iPhone, iPad, other Mac, etc) and see if any of them see the TV. If not, it's something with the TV (get LG support to assist).

Unfortunately, I don't have any other Apple devices. I will probably have to ask my friend for their Apple device. lol Thank you for your assistance.

Cheers.

SOLVED!

-Forget the WIFi network on tv
-Turn off the tv & unplug for 30 seconds
-Plug tv back in and turn on
-Reconnect to WiFi- BUT realized it was originally connected to 2.4ghz. Connected it to 5.0ghz and used static IP again
Note: (Static IP is not necessary)
-TV showed up on screen mirroring list!!!
-After selecting tv on macbook, tv asked me to enter code
-code didn't work, no matter how many times I tried. Tried using a password instead, to no avail.
-Changed it back to code, and turned off tv. Unplugged for 30 seconds
-Plugged tv back in and tried connecting to tv via screen mirroring
-Code worked, and screen mirroring works!!!
