So, I bought a CTO 13" Air recently.
When it showed up, the first thing I noticed on the gray linen startup image was some light bleed and other irregularities at the bottom of the screen (around the center).
Checking on white and black backgrounds and different brightness and ambient light levels confirmed this.
I actually decided right away that I would just live with it as I know no screen is perfect and that a replacement could be as bad or worse.
Even though this shouldn't make any difference, I couldn't help myself and tried "massaging" the problem area one night with a microfiber cloth.
Lo and behold, the screen has actually improved since then (had it for about 2 weeks now). The light bleed and other blobs at the bottom of the screen are almost completely gone.
Unfortunately, I don't have before/after pics, but the fact that I really have to look hard for the spot on both white and black backgrounds confirms in my head that the issue has improved. EVEN IF IT HASN'T REALLY IMPROVED, I don't notice it anymore, and that's what really matters.
Now, it's still not perfect. This Air still has that little bit of dark gradient on the bottom of the screen, and like almost every screen ever there is a very subtle yellowing as you go towards the bottom.
Keep in mind that this was a ship-to-store delivery that sat for 5 days before I picked it up.
I'm just mentioning this all to say, enjoy your machines! Whatever imperfection you notice at first might not actually be a problem. Even if it doesn't improve like mine (maybe) did, you'll probably stop noticing it after a few weeks.

P.S. No, I have no idea who the manufacturer of my screen is, and I have no interest in checking. It looks very good to me, and that's all I care about.
