Hi! i'm new in the forums but not in mac. These are my hardware specifications:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP31.0070.B07
SMC Version (system): 1.16f11

...I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and for the past 3 months I've been having a serious problem with my mac. Sometimes some weird wave looking' lines appear in my screen, after that my mac totally freeze and I have to power it off by holding down the power button.

Sometimes, after the lines show up, the system doesn't freeze, it even let me take screenshots, which make me think that this is a software problem, I think that if it were a hardware problem these lines won't appear in a screenshot.

Also every time I have this problem, these lines will show up in the booting screen, when this happens I just have to wait till’ the little “please reboot your system” window appear. After rebooting (again) sometimes it does it right and sometimes I’ll have to face the problem again, and then reboot again, hoping for the system to boot properly. I've took some pictures of that with my cellphone and I've attached them to this post.

Could anyone help?, thanks in advance!.
